The City of Greenville is a full-service city providing public safety, water, wastewater, roadways, parks, airport services, library, electricity, cable, and high-speed Internet access to its 26,600 residents.
The City's 300 employees provide a high quality of service to our citizens. This is accomplished through active community partnerships and innovative and cost-effective service delivery.
As the chief executive officer appointed by the City Council, the City Manager is responsible for:
Implementing of the policies and laws approved by the City Council
Overseeing an annual budget of approximately $50 million
Facilitating the completion of strategic priorities, projects, and initiatives directed by the City Council
The City Manager is also responsible for the proper administration of all affairs of the City. Electric, cable, and high-speed Internet services, however, are operated by the Greenville Electric Utility System (GEUS) Board, appointed by the City Council.
