  5. Audie Murphy Days

    May 15, 9:00 AM - May 16, 8:00 PM @ Fletcher Warren Civic Center & Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum

    Celebrates the life of Audie Murphy, most decorated combat soldier of WWII, as well as military veterans and those currently serving our country. Noted speakers include Dr. David Smith who is publishing a new book on Audie and Dr. Carolyn Perry who will talk about Audie in relation to the film industry of that era. There will be a panel discussion with a combination of recently published authors on Audie as well as some people who met Audie. Academy Award nominated actress Terry Moore will be our celebrity guest this year. She starred with Audie in Cast a Long Shadow. A special "Audie Bus Tour" will be available Friday afternoon for $5 per person. RSVP's will be required ahead of time for this tour as there are a limited number of seats available. A BBQ lunch catered by Ernie's BBQ will also be available on Friday and tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $12 for adults & $5 for 5-12 year olds.

  1. Summer Slam Sports Camp Registration

    March 27 - August 6

    The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, Greenville High School, and Boys & Girls Club of Hunt County have partnered again this year to bring the community youth together in a fun and active environment. Camps include Girl's Basketball, Girl's Softball, Boy's Basketball, Tennis, Girl's Volleyball, and Football. All campers will receive a t-shirt, tote bag, and professional instruction from Greenville ISD coaches.   2. Youth Summer Basketball Registration

    April 27 - June 14

    The City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department now offers a fun fast pace youth summer basketball program available to both boys and girls ages 5 to 12. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings with practices the two weeks prior to games starting. Cost is $35 per player.   3. Ja-Lu Summer Pool Party Reservations

    May 11 - August 9

    The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting reservations for pool parties on Monday, May 11, 2015. The pool may be reserved for private parties from June 6 to August 9 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. The rental fee for 2 hours is $280 and includes as many lifeguards as needed to oversee the party. Rental fees must be paid in full at the time of the reservation. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Reserve your spot for a pool party online at www.inparksweplay.com or come by our office at 2821 Washington Street.
