The Greenville Board of Development has targeted $25,000 annually to provide façade grants to building owners in the downtown area.

The program will be administered through the Main Street Advisory Board and the Main Street Office.  The goal of the program is to provide funding assistance to improve and rehabilitate bulding façades in the downtown central area zone. 

Buildings designated as historic by the State of Texas or the Main Street Advisory Board will be given preference. Restoration of storefronts to their historic status will also be given preference.

Grants are available at a 50/50 match from a minimum grant amount of $2,500 to a maximum grant amount of $5,000.  The grant funds cannot exceed 50% of the cost of each project.

To apply for a grant, complete a grant application and return it to the City of Greenville Main Street Office.  Applications are available online or at the Main Street Office, located at 2821 Washington Street.

Grants will be awarded before September 30th each year.

Except for routine maintenance, approval from the Main Street Advisory Board of exterior alterations to downtown building façades is already required before work can begin, including signage changes, new paint colors or other physical changes.
