About the Department
The Greenville Fire Department is a fully paid department of 52 personnel. There is one administration office and four fire stations strategically located in different quadrants of the City.
The Department responds to approximately 3,000 calls per year involving both emergency and non-emergency public assists. The City of Greenville has a service area of 33 square miles with a population of 26,600.
Firefighters
The department is divided into three shifts rotating 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty. All firefighters are professionally trained and certified as firefighters by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and provide EMS and First Responder Services through the Texas Department of Health.
Vehicles
The Department has three front-line pumpers, two reserve pumpers, one aerial (75-foot) quint, one (95-foot) platform, two booster trucks, one command vehicle, and one reserve rescue vehicle. A 1916 American LaFrance pumper has been restored and is in the fleet.
