We'll Surprise You!

Welcome to Greenville! We've changed a lot over the years, from the days when cotton was king, to a time of robotics, aerospace technology, and manufacturing. We are experiencing a growth boom and don't see any end in sight. We've recently opened dozens of new restaurants, shops, and attractions - all for you to explore. Here is a sample of what's in store!

Dynamic Public Art

Public Art Installations Collage

Greenville is now home to dazzling murals and playful sculptures, art galleries, and lots of music! We currently have eight significant Public Art Installations (with more on the way), three galleries to explore, two major performance venues and several smaller ones. We even have the best artsy Happy Hour in Texas each Wednesday.  To find out more about these, check out the Art Walk section of our website.

Boundless Entertainment

Performer in a Pub, Performer on stage, Texan Theater Interior

Greenville has always been an entertainment destination. Why, back when we were a hub for the cotton industry, Greenville was home to numerous Opera Houses and theaters. And today is no exception. Variety is the key to a Downtown filled with entertainment options. Try one of our downtown nightspots like Empty Glass Steakhouse & Saloon that feature both indoor and outdoor stages. Or, check out the historic Greenville Municipal Auditorium. Built in 1939, its stage has been graced by the likes of Elvis, Van Cliburn, Loretta Lynn, MercyMe, and The Dallas Symphony. For the ultimate VIP night out, our beautifully revived Texan Theater features a one-price-deal that includes top name performers, a 4-course meal, gratuities, drinks, and parking! Even our Winery has live entertainment on the weekends! So, when planning your visit, be sure to include some time to enjoy a show!

Variety of Attractions

Splash Kingdom, Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum, Landon Winery

We are excited to be home to several great attractions for both families and adults. Located just off I-30, Splash Kingdom Air Patrol is THE place to cool off from the hot Texas heat during those warm Summer months. Just a little farther north on I-30 is the Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum. Their significant collection includes artifacts from Greenville's cotton heritage as well as exhibits celebrating local heroes - including the most decorated soldier of WWII - Audie Leon Murphy. And Shenaniganz offers great indoor fun for young and old alike with bowling, laser tag, virtual reality, huge gaming area and full-service restaurant and bar.  If exploring fine wines or craft beers is more to your liking, then visit Landon Winery in historic Downtown Greenville. Monthly, they offer Barrel Room Tours where you can sample some of their award-winning wines. And now they are also brewing Craft Beers! And Greenville is within a 30-minute drive of four major lakes.  So, no matter what your taste, we have something fun for everyone!

Great Weekend Getaways

Hunt County Fair, Lee Street Jamboree, Bob Wills Fiddle Festival

No matter when you visit Greenville, we always have something special going on. Winter always brings big name touring acts through the Municipal Auditorium & Texan Theater. Spring brings the Hunt County Fair (April),  Audie Murphy Day (May), and the Hunt County Festival of the Arts (May). Summertime, we enjoy the annual July 4th Parade on Historic Park Street and the Annual Summer Musical (July) by Greenville Family Theater. And Fall brings our fun-filled Autumn events including the Cotton Patch Bike Race & Lee Street Jamboree (Sept), Bras for the Cause (Oct), Halloween on the Square (Oct), and the Bob Wills Fiddle Festival and Contest (Nov). And we kick off our holiday season with a mass Open-House during Downtown Stroll (Nov), then welcome Christmas with the Christmas Parade (Dec), Park Street Carriage Rides (Dec), and an annual performance of The Nutcracker (Dec) at the Municipal Auditorium. Whoever said that there is nothing to do in a small town never visited Greenville!
