Event-Independence Day

Sports Park July 4th Event

Independence Day (July 4) - Every Independence Day, Greenville begins its celebration with the Firecracker 5K Fun Run.  Then, the celebration shifts to historic Park Street for a fun old-fashioned hometown parade that includes antique cars, lots of kids, a marching band, colorful horses, veterans, and lots of locals.  It’s the day neighbors invite you to bring a lawn chair and set it up in their yard.  Immediately following the parade, residents walk down the street to Kavanaugh United Methodist Church for a stirring patriotic program of music and readings, followed by free watermelon!  Then to cap off the day, residents gather at the Greenville Sports Park for the annual Bottle Rocket Bash!  Thousands gather to see the biggest fireworks show in Hunt County, enjoy vendors, kids zone, and live entertainment.  For information on the Firecracker 5K and Bottle Rocket Bash, visit Greenville Parks Events.  For more information on the Park Street Parade, visit the Facebook page Park Street Greenville Texas.
