Safety Equipment
Through an agreement with L-3 Communications/IS, the Airport maintains a fully equipped, 24/7 crash and fire protection service. The equipment includes:
Two Walters Crash Trucks
Three Fire Fox Trucks
Two combined-agent vehicles
15 Scott air packs and suits
40 aluminized heat reflective suits
One NEEL 1,000 gallon pumper
One chemical waste cleanup vehicle
One command post vehicle
The L-3 Fire-Rescue Department is located at the Airport and adjoins the ramp to provide immediate access to aircraft anywhere on the airfield. The department is staffed by professional firefighters who receive regular training. In addition, the Greenville Fire Department has four stations that can also respond to emergencies at the Airport.
