Request for Inspections

Except for City holidays, building inspectors are normally available to perform inspections from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. It is the responsibility of the contractor to whom a permit is issued to call for all required inspections.

Requests for inspections may be made by calling Community Development at (903) 457-3100 or by emailing Community Development

Please include the following information when requesting inspections:

• The contractor's business name
• The site address and/or permit number
• The type of inspection requested
• The date requested for the inspection - specify morning or afternoon

A 24-hour notice of inspection is required; however, depending on the availability of inspectors, inspections requested before 8:30 am will usually be performed during the morning of the same day. Inspection requests prior to 1:00 pm will usually be performed during the afternoon of the same day.

After Hours, Weekends, and Holidays

A contractor may make a special request for an inspection after hours, on weekends, or on holidays. Requests for these inspections must be made in writing at least 72 hours prior to the requested time.

The Building Official may approve these requests, depending on the availability of the inspectors. An additional fee of $40 for each inspection must be paid in advance.
