Food Handlers Certification
Food Handler Ordinance
Effective since July 4, 2008, the City of Greenville requires all food handlers working within the city to obtain a Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire. In order to acquire this certification, an individual must take a class which conveys the proper procedures for handling food.
Some of the topics covered include, but are not limited to:
Proper hand washing
Proper cleaning and sanitation
Lowering the risk of cross-contamination
Lowering the risk of food-borne illnesses
