Reporting an Animal Bite
All animal bites must be reported to the Animal Control Division within 24 hours of the bite. Dogs, cats, and high risk animals inflicting bites which break the skin, regardless of vaccination status, must be quarantined for 10 days to demonstrate that rabies was not transmitted at the time of the bite.

What to do in case of an animal bite
Wash the bite area thoroughly with soap and water.

Seek medical attention.Contact the City of Greenville Animal Control Division at (903) 457-2990, as soon as possible, within 24 hours, after the bite. Please provide the name and address of the owner, description of the animal, and the address where the animal may be found. In case of emergencies contact the City of Greenville Police Department at (903) 457-2900.
