Turning on Utilities
Requirements
The applicant for a Certificate of Occupancy must contact the various utility providers and pay the appropriate deposits and fees that are required for utility service. Agencies responsible for utilities will not activate service or change the name on a utility account at a non-residential building until they receive confirmation from the Community Development Office that a Certificate of Occupancy has been approved.
After a Certificate of Occupancy has been approved for a given location, the Community Development staff will contact the City's Utility Billing Office and the TXU Gas Company to authorize the connection of utility service. Each utility provider will then authorize a work order to activate a utility service connection.
