Façade Grant Program

The Greenville Board of Development has targeted $25,000 annually to provide façade grants to building owners in the downtown area.

The program is administered through the Main Street Advisory Board and the Main Street Office. The goal of the program is to provide funding assistance to improve building façades in the downtown central area zone. Buildings designated as historic by the State of Texas or the Main Street Advisory Board and restoration of storefronts to their historic status will be given preference.

Application Process

Grants are available up to a 50/50 match with a minimum grant amount of $300 to a maximum grant amount of $5,000. To apply for a grant, complete a grant application and return it to the City of Greenville Main Street Office. Applications are also available at the Main Street Office, located at 2821 Washington Street. Grants will be awarded before September 30th each year.  For more information, contact the Main Street Office by calling (903) 457-3138 or by email.

Exterior Alternations

Except for routine maintenance, approval from the Main Street Advisory Board of exterior alterations to downtown building façades is already required before work can begin, including signage changes, new paint colors or other physical changes.
