[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

GREENVILLE: On April 10, 2020, at approximately 2:44 p.m., the Greenville Police Department responded to a robbery in the 100 block of Ellis Circle. It was reported that the suspects arranged a meeting through Facebook with the victim to purchase a cell phone. Using a firearm, the suspects demanded money and property from the victim and then fled the scene. As officers arrived in the area, they began searching for the suspects, later identified as Johnny Ray Sanders III, and Jatwane Anton Wilson. Sanders and Wilson were located a short time later and were arrested after a brief foot pursuit with officers.

During the investigation, officers were also able to recover the firearm used in the robbery. Sanders and Wilson were transported to the Hunt County jail, where they were charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and evading arrest or detention.
