[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: CITY SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR BOARD OF DEVELOPMENT VACANCIES

Greenville: The City Council is currently accepting applications until Monday, October 19, 2020, from persons interested in serving on the Greenville Board of Development due to upcoming vacancies. The Board of Development was chartered by the City Council in 1941 to promote industrial and business growth in the City.

Serving on this board provides an excellent opportunity for citizens to get involved with their local government. Board members are appointed by the City Council as terms expire or vacancies occur. This Board specializes in supporting companies with relocation and expansion plans as well as promoting economic development in all areas of Greenville.

Unless the requirement is waived by the City Council, applicants must be a resident of the City. They must be a registered voter of the City; they should not be a party in litigation against the City; and all taxes and utility bills should be paid and current.

The Board of Development will conduct an Orientation Information Meeting on Monday, October 26, 2020, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
