If you're someone who wants to get the Christmas Tree going just as quickly as possible, and you want the experience of cutting a live tree, then check out Kadee Christmas Tree Farm, located 7 miles southeast of Greenville at 5054 Hwy 69 South. They will open for the Christmas season on November 18th and their hours will be Monday - Friday 2 - 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am - 7pm. They will close December 17 unless they're sold out before. They offer choose and cut Virginia pines, other fir trees, wreaths and garlands and a gift shop with holiday items. In addition, there are lots of family activities, including hayrides, animal barn, fire pit, snacks, hot cider and lots more. They also have a Walking Trail of Lights from November 18th-December 17th, Tuesday-Sunday from 5:30-8pm. Admission to the lights is $8.00 per person. On Thanksgiving Day, if you want to share the meal with others or help make it a good day for those who are alone, consider joining the folks at Clark Street Christian Church for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner - a community tradition for many, many years. The mission of the dinner is to feed the hungry a good Thanksgiving meal and volunteers are welcome - things start about 10:30 and they will serve util the food is gone. They need help with cooks, servers and folks to deliver meals to the elderly and disabled – no need to call, just show up ready to work. The church is located at 1402 Clark Street, and you can get more information or order a meal to be delivered by calling 903-455-3148.
