Philip Spencer

Philip Spencer was born in Williamsburg, Virginia, and graduated from Bruton High School in Williamsburg. Educational background includes: Paris Junior College – Received an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Criminal Justice and graduated from Texas A&M Commerce majoring in Criminal Justice Leadership in May 2023. Career highlights include: Serving our country in The United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, and serving for over 12 years. Philip worked as a Houston County, Georgia Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician for 2 years before moving to Texas and being hired by the City of Greenville as a Police Officer. He progressed in the police department holding many titles and extra responsibilities to include, including Field Training Officer, Honor Guard member, Hostage Negotiations Team Leader, and Detective. He was awarded Kiwanis Officer of the Year twice and American Legion Officer of the Year once as well. Philip retired from the Police Department after 15 years of service and is currently employed by Samsung Electronics America as a Digital Forensic Examiner / Corporate Investigator. Philip has served the Greenville community by volunteering in the following ways: Hunt County Child Advocacy Board Member, American Cancer Society Team Representative, Greenville Police Department Explorers Advisor, Greenville Municipal Police Association President and Secretary/Treasurer, Blue Santa Board Member, Youth Softball Coach, and High School Hockey Team Manager. Philip is married to Maranda Spencer, Retail Market Manager with American National Bank of Texas, as well as the Greenville Chamber of Commerce Treasurer, a board member with Greenville High School PTA, Council PTA, and Greenville Education Enrichment Foundation. Together they have 2 children Avery Spencer, who is a 2023 graduate from the University of North Texas, and Grant Spencer, who attends Greenville High School. Philip and his family have been faithful members of Family Fellowship Church for over 17 years where they serve faithfully in the children's ministry and lead a small group Bible study.
